I think I got it correct up to the part of installing the driver, but I don’t know how to set it up after that. I was able to finally get it installed by following the directions I posted on the ndiswrapper wiki.

You can double check if the changes got saved by running the first command again and check if f5d001 edited line is there. Install ndiswrapper, and “wrap” an existing Windows driver.
Anyway, that’s not the point since the card works and works well. If your card is not supported by ubuntu you can use ndiswrapper to use the ubunty driver in ubuntu. I don’t know if turning radiostate off is necessary though I could easily test this if you’d like. And yes, the card works was working fine under Windows in the same exact system.
